Workshops of the PanEuropean Common Bird Monitoring Scheme project

The participants of the PanEuropean Common Bird Monitoring workshop held on 25th to 29th of September 2009 at the Czech University of Agriculture, Faculty of Forestry and Environment in Prague, Czech Republic

2022, Luzern, Switzerland

Workshop took place on Monday 4 April at 2.30–5.30 PM during the EBCC conference Bird Numbers 2022 in Lucerne. We introduced the project progress since the last Bird Numbers conference in Evora in 2019, the selected national coordinators presented individual scheme news and authors from the PECBMS network presented research outputs and plans for future developments. Over 50 participants attended the workshop.

2019: Évora, Portugal 

Workshop was held on 12th of April during the Bird Numbers 2019 conference. Aims: To inform PECBMS coordinators and the wider network about progress in our work, to introduce the new tools for computation and data delivery and stimulate discussion about future plans and priorities (download the final agenda).

2019: Solsona, Spain 

11–12th March, a Mini-workshop dedicated to wild bird indicators took place. The Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia (CTFC) hosted more than 20 experts in bird monitoring.

2023: Brno, Czechia – Training workshop on International Census Plots (ICP) and on-line portals

The training workshop was held after the regular EuroBirdPortal (EBP) meeting and workshop on EBP data flow, which lasted for two days (20th- 21st of November).

2019: Évora, Portugal: EBBA2 workshop                                                            

The workshop was held during the Bird Numbers 2019 conference. More than 200 ornithologists, experts on bird monitoring, met at the beginning of April 2019 in Évora, Portugal. The conference programme covered many topics including talks and posters on bird distribution atlases. Furthermore, we organized a dedicated workshop on EBBA2 during the conference. Now a short report has been published particularly for those who are interested in EBBA2 but couldn’t attend the workshop in Évora. Since we were in the final phases of producing the maps and writing the texts for the EBBA2, we had encouraged national coordinators, species experts, and everybody interested to read the report on the EBBA2 website.
