EBCC Board changes

In the autumn of this year, Chris van Turnhout resigned as a member of the EBCC Board. Chris joined the board in 2019, taking over as Treasurer from Anny Anselin. Having worked at SOVON for many years, Chris decided to take on a new challenge. From January 2024, he will be working for Natuurmonumenten, one of the largest Conservation NGOs in the Netherlands. In the EBCC Board, Chris took care of the finances and brought in his long-term experience in bird monitoring. We thank Chris for his work for EBCC and wish him a lot of satisfaction in his new job.

The EBCC is an Association under Dutch Law. Although not compulsory, having a board member based in the Netherlands facilitates our work. We are therefore very grateful to SOVON for proposing Julia Stahl to follow up on Chris as board member and Treasurer. Julia is Head of Research at SOVON, where, among many other projects, she is currently involved in the EuroBirdPortal project, particularly the EFSA project. Julia has much experience in research and monitoring work in the Netherlands and Germany. The EBCC has elected Julia as a board member at its autumn meeting. We welcome Julia to the board and look forward to the collaboration.

In recent years, EBCC has collaborated more and more with EURING. We therefore invited and welcomed Rob Robinson as an observer to strengthen the collaboration between the two organisations.
